In sonic solitude, Arc have been creating a groundbreaking LP which signifies just how imperative they’re about to become within the vast sound spectrum of dance music. Both Tetsu Gomorrah and Charlie Howell have decorated palettes when it comes to their influences, something which oozes throughout each one of their slick, imaginative deliveries. Whether it’s trip-hop, future garage or neo soul, they’ve spent years pouring over records to create a cross-pollination of genres which has resulted in a package of sultry beats and rich searing basslines.

‘Down’ featuring Emma Wizz acts as the harbinger to this emotive journey. The classical training of Howell becomes clear throughout every cleverly written instrumental, although with his ethereal, three pronged moods clearly merging with Gomorrah’s darker syntheses and booming bass peddles. The vocals of Emma Wizz add the track’s more humanistic elements and bit by bit you’re taken through its motions. If this is your first introduction to Arc, you’ll become instantly aware of just how well honed their craft has become over years of spending time on their debut. This is will be many future-fans first insight into the duo and it demonstrates just how seriously they take music making. Not many emerging artists are able to take on such a staggering feat and deliver a body of work weighing in at this size.

The record mixes its lighter and darker elements and this is something which builds into a signature for Arc - something which will be gradually revealed more as ‘An Evening with Loss’ is dropped onto their growing audience.
