TSREP003 "The Worst Is Yet To Come" by Agman Gora
Written & Produced by Agman Gora & Fortitude
Release date: October 1st 2018
Distro: Triple Vision / Bandcamp / Juno / Beatport
Agman Gora has been an unstoppable force within the underground Bass Music & free party scene around the UK and Europe. His lyrics are unapologetic, political, social, angry, hilariously shady and mostly unhinged. As someone who experiences battles with mental health, through music he manages to channel it in artistic and productive ways and tries to help other wade through the grime and slime of modern life by illuminating the injustices and the hypocrisies of our treadmill times. On this debut EP, Agman has teamed up with Therapy Sessions Recordings veteran Fortitude who doubles down on the lyrical dystopia with dark, rumbling broken beats.
We are all beyond proud of this EP, a real passion project, with 5 totally unique tracks trying to navigate through the system we sometimes find ourselves born into.. trapped into.. and possibly how to survive, or at the very least retain a semblance of sanity...
Clips on Soundcloud:
“Halloween brains... Murder, mayhem, video games..”
Picture it. Quiet night in. No plans. Next thing you know it’s half 2 in the morning and you’re sh*tfaced at a cash point planning a mission to score… This song blasts out of a moving car passing you at that moment, the sounds slowing and distorting as it drives further away and the red glow dissipates cut by the shrouding comfort of the darkness… An anthem to impulsive, unhinged decadence.
2. CEMETERY SOUL
“The Worst is yet to come…try and breathe…”
Deep and dark lyrics drift over a deep and dark minimal roller brimming with low end and crisp, snappy drum work. Sub heavy and subhuman, paranoid and paralysed... try not to lose your soul in the blackness…
“50% of all time spent. Racking up debts and paying off rent”..
Sometimes when you speak out against the truly bewildering state of affairs we find ourselves in the modern day, you need a funky beat. A Gritty little stepper, throwing truth nuggets that growl at you like a justifiably caged animal whilst a voice through a megaphone barks barely disguised contempt at you. Don't blindly accept the system. Prisoners at birth…no consent.
“Shadow figures f*ck and fight in strobe pantomime. Out of our minds we move out of time”..
An eerie, unsettling drone welcomes you to this bleak lullaby, a whispered secret just for your ears. “I didn’t come here to dance” he says…but it genuinely feels like a challenge as the wave of chaotic breaks and deeeeep bass rushes you and leaves you for dead in the shadows…
5. 3 BLACK EYES
“No one is awake and no one is asleep and everyone is no one in the dark black deep”..
Evil howls in the distance. Pounding kick drums. The words of a mad man fill your ears. A song that shifts about like a social chameleon, starting as a broken beat workout and changing its form over and over and dragging you along with it. A barrage of breaks and bass with the underlying sound of the underground caverns the mind fears but the body aches for….
